BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Hamilton Primary School held its annual Valentine's for Vets program, with hundreds of students sitting down to to create personalized Valentine's Day cards which will be shipped to US troops deployed around the world by Operation Shoebox New Jersey.

The non-profit, volunteer organization will host a packing event at the Manville VFW, 600 Washington Ave., Manville on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The students' cards will be included in each one of the 1,000 personal care packages that will be assembled that day by volunteers. The contents of each box weighs 6-8 pounds and includes donated items like candy, cookies, toothpaste, socks and more.

Volunteers are invited to the Feb. 10 to help assemble the care packages. A list of items that can be donated can be found on the website at opshoeboxnj.org.

Operation Shoebox New Jersey has worked with the students at the school for the past five years; the program is sponsored by the school's PTO organization, with several members on hand to help the children make their cards.

And Over Here is the Dining Hall 2

My very first job in admissions was while I was still an undergraduate myself as a tour guide.  Very early on they indoctrinated us with some tricks of the trade.  It’s a dining hall, not a cafeteria.  A residence hall, not a dorm.  If you have to divulge some negative bit of information, sandwich it between two positives.  There were instructions for glossing over ...
