Local Animal Rescue Group Schedules 9th Annual Tricky Tray Brunch

Ninth Annual Tricky Tray Brunch, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,  at The Westwood, located at 438 North Avenue in Garwood.

Berkeley Heights, NJ, May 1, 2017 – Summit Animal Rescue Association today announced the organization’s 9th Annual Tricky Tray Brunch.  The purpose of this event is to generate awareness about Summit Animal Rescue Association and to help raise funds to help us continue our rescue efforts/

The event is scheduled for June 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  It will be held at the Westwood 438 North Ave, Garwood, NJ.

Summit Animal Rescue Association, Inc (SARA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Berkeley Heights NJ. Their mission is to rescue cats, dogs, or any animal in need, give them medical attention, rehabilitate them, and provide a temporary, loving environment until permanent homes are found.  Adoptions are held weekly at Petco in Watchung and Old Bridge. Pet Valu in Garwood and Gillette on Saturdays.  In addition, SARA assists NJ residents with low-cost resources to spay and neuter feral cats in order to reduce the number of unwanted kittens in shelters. SARA has a proven track record for saving lives. Through tireless efforts they have found homes for over 6,000 animals since they began over 13 years ago.  SARA’s entire staff is made up of volunteers, working in tandem with veterinarians who assist with discounted rates.  100% of all donations raised go directly to the care and feeding of the animals saved. New Providence OEM Opened Storm Shelter and Warmed Hearts

The New Providence Office of Emergency Management opened its shelter at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, their first guest being a stranded motorist.  The storm left ¾ of New Providence without power. The shelter cared for over 325 people over the course of 6 days.
