SUMMIT, NJ - Matthew Gould, elected to serve Ward 1 on the Summit Common Council in 2017, passed away unexpectedly the evening of August 13 at Morristown Medical Center from a heart condition. Gould, also Council president pro tempore, was 48-years-old.

Gould and his family have lived in Summit for more than a decade, and he was president of New York City-based Continuum Entertainment, a factual content video and film production company.

Gould worked in the media and entertainment industry for twenty years, holding senior executive positions at a range of America’s top publishing and broadcasting companies, including the Discovery Channel, TLC, Travel Channel, The New York Times, and Time Warner.
