SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit YMCA's 'Togetherhood Program' will host its second annual 'Holiday Cookie Walk Bake Sale' December 14, beginning at 9 a.m. until all the cookies are gone. A $10 donation will provide attendees with a choice of delicious traditional homemade cookies in a decorative holiday motif box.
The event lasts as only long as the cookies do, so be sure to stop by early. Last year, the Sale saw more than 2,000 cookies sold in under three hours.
Event proceeds benefit the 'Togetherhood Program', a Summit Area YMCA volunteer-led initiative that allows members to actively engage in social service projects that positively strengthen the community.
"We drove all the way from Bayonne -- this is an amazing cookie walk!" said a participating patron of last year's event. "We are happy to buy holiday cookies to support your 'Togetherhood Program'."
Judi Knott of the Summit Free Public Library added, “Supporting the Y’s 'Togetherhood Program' by purchasing cookies during the annual Cookie Walk was a win-win. The cookies were yummy (and practically calorie-free, since I shared them with my co-workers), and knowing that every dollar goes toward supporting a program that gives so much back to the community."
The event will be held in the Triangle Room of the Summit YMCA, located at 67 Maple Street.
