RUTHERFORD, NJ - The 149 members of the 2017 New Providence Marching Band took home second place in The Yamaha Cup Invitational on Saturday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Under the direction of Band Director Michael Niedziejko and Assistant Band Director Donald Baker, the New Providence Marching Band won second place in Group 6A with a score of 85.633, and they received a caption award for Best Visual. Their show “Seas the Day,” which they have been rehearsing for since August 21st, depicts the sights and sounds of the ocean. They enter this season as the returning National Champions of 2016.

The next time you can see the NPHS Marching Band is on October 21 at 1:00 p.m. at New Providence High School. The State Championships will be at Rutgers High Point Solutions Stadium on October 28.
