EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The 156 members of the 2016 New Providence Marching Band took home first place in The Yamaha Cup on Saturday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Under the direction of Band Director Michael Niedziejko and Assistant Band Director Donald Baker, the New Providence Marching Band won first place in Group 6A with the highest score of 86.46, with caption awards for Best Color Guard and Best Music.

They arrived at the stadium under crystal clear skies and a full moon. Their show “Cityscape,” which they have been rehearsing for since August 22, represents one day spent in New York City. They enter this season as the returning National Champions of 2015 and are certainly off to a great beginning.

Next up are the State Championships at Rutgers High Point Solutions Stadium on October 22, and the National Championships on November 5.
