NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - How do you take a picture of the 156 members of the 2016 NPHS Marching Band on a freestanding set of bleachers in the senior parking lot? As you can see in the photo gallery; very carefully.
The New Providence High School Marching Band and Color Guard got into full dress for the first time yesterday to take the annual band picture. As always, it was as carefully choreographed as one of their performances, with Mr. Niedziejko and Mr. Baker slowly guiding the band up the bleachers and into place.
The 2015 National Championship winning members of the New Providence Marching Band have been putting in eight-hour days since August 22, learning the new music and practicing the new show until nearly 9 p.m. every weeknight under the lights of the football field.
You can catch their first half-time show on Saturday, September 17 as the Pioneers football team takes on Hillside [game begins at 1 p.m.] or at the football home opener on Friday, September 30 against Bernards at 7 p.m..
