Three Candidates File for Two Board of Education Seats in New Providence

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Monday, July 31, 2017 was the deadline to file a petition to run for the local Board of Education.  According to the Union County Clerk’s office, three candidates have filed to run in New Providence.  They are:

Ira Krauss (incumbent)

Mary Misiukiewicz (incumbent)

The three candidates will run for two expiring seats in New Providence during the November election. Board of Education members serve a three year term.

Watchung Borough Mayor and Council Approve Affordable Housing Settlement

WATCHUNG, NJ -The Watchung Borough Council voted on Thursday night  to settle its third round affordable housing obligation mandated by the state of New Jersey. Watchung Borough’s immunity from builder's remedy lawsuits  expires on June 30.

 Mayor Stephen Pote was forced to cast the deciding vote after the council deadlocked at 3-3.
