Track and Field: Pasquariello Takes Two Second Place Finishes at Union County Tournament for New Providence

PLAINFIELD, NJ - New Providence High School senior Mark Pasquariello takes two second place finishes [1600m in 4:22.51, a personal best, and 800m in 1:57.90] at the Union County Track and Field Championships on May 18-19 at Hub Stein Field hosted by Plainfield High School.  

The Pioneers Boys Track and Field teams placed 8th overall in team ranking at the Union County Championships with 16 events scored.

Girls Pole Vault: Jordyn Waeschle placed sixth clearing 8-06;

Boys 100 M: Johnny Kovacs placed seventh in 11.20;

Boys 1600 M: Mark Pasquariello placed second in 4:22.51, a personal best;

Boys 3200 M: Thomas Flanagan placed 10th in 10;:36.81;

Boys Javelin: Timothy DiGuglielmo placed seventh throwing 153-02.00;

Boys 400 Hurdles: Robert Zeto placed seventh in 58.07;

Boys 800 M: Mark Pasquariello placed second in 1:57.90; Robert Zeto placed fourth in 1:58.54;

Boys Pole Vault: Cheney Price placed third clearing 12-00.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, May 25 and 26, at the NJSIAA Sectionals Central Group 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Hillsborough, NJ. This meet marks the start of the state championship series where only the top six in each event move on into the next level of competition.  The series culminates in the Meet of Champions on June 10th.
