CRANFORD, NJ -  Both Chanese White of Roselle and Erica Kenny of Cranford, plead not guilty on Friday Sept. 4, when appearing in court on charges of child abuse, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office.

Both women had allegedly instigated fights among children who were under their care at the Lightbridge Academy location in Cranford on South Avenue East. 

As both defendants appeared in court yesterday, they indicated an intent to retain an attorney.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for 8:30am, Thursday Oct. 15 before Judge William Daniel.

Earlier this week the Union County Prosecutor's Office had issued a full statement regarding the charges.
