“Savoy Faire” is a Gilbert & Sullivan ensemble of featured artists from LONJ, who are focused on community outreach. The primary goal of Savoy Faire is to educate and enlighten audiences of all ages while providing top-notch entertainment.

The Hudson Shakespeare Company’s production of “Almost Maine” follows on Saturday, April 13. On a clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine.

As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night's dream.

Founded in 1992, the Hudson Shakespeare Company continues to strive toward bringing the classics and contemporary theater to a myriad of locations and venues in New Jersey and the greater Tri-State area. Through their programs, they seek to create innovative and comfortable atmospheres for all personnel, from on stage to back stage, and to provide broad cultural and artistic exposure to audiences. At the same time, they pride themselves on a long tradition of giving first time directors, actors and technicians their “first crack at the theater.”

The programs are free and open to Westfield Memorial Library and MURAL cardholders. (MURAL cardholders belong to libraries that are part of the Middlesex Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries. Check our website to see if your library participates.) To register for the program, visit the library’s website at www.wmlnj.org, click on the Online Calendar, or call 908-789-4090 option 0.
