NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Tara Colandrea, owner of Kindness Counts Therapy in Westfield, and a member of Divorce Dynasty - a female powerhouse group of professional women including therapists, lawyers, and realtors, who are each a champion of their respective roles in the divorce process for this series -- recently held her first of an 8 week series of free group counseling sessions.

Colandrea, the Licensed Therapist of Divorce Dynasty, hosted her first free group counseling session in conjunction with a fellow member of Divorce Dynasty, Heather Hoffman, owner of Luminous Med Spa who hosted the event at her salon. The first free group counseling session for women, who are dealing with a loss of a relationship in some way, consisted of group therapy which began with Chelsea Hoeffler, owner of Yoga Essence of New Providence, leading a mindfulness meditation.

Colandrea reached out to fellow business owners in the area who were happy to collaborate for this successful event. The female-owned businesses all brought their personal flare to the event to help women. Arielle Cassidy, owner of the Juice House, in New Providence, donated juice for the participants, Kara Fleming, personal trainer in Mountainside aided in the counseling and relaxation techniques, Dr. Beth Herko, owner of New Providence Dentistry donated to the event and Hoeffler of Yoga Essence helped lead the program.

“I wanted to give back to women and allow them to share their stories while offering support in a calming environment,” Colandrea stated.  “I thought it would be very powerful to collaborate with other female business owners in the community to empower women and give back.”

The series will run for eight weeks and will include topics such as: healthy boundaries, goal setting, the narcissistic ex, stress relief, creating peaceful family, healing your heart, and bouncing back.  Sessions will often include guest speakers from other businesses in the area that emphasize the importance of self-care.  Tara will be coordinating with many women-owned businesses in order to make this series a success.

Sleep out at Covenant House

June 18, 2018

I can enjoy the same movies over and over like it were the first time to see them.  My kids roll their eyes at this.  Well, many unimaginable things happen as you become a certain age, and you tend to learn to accept those things graciously as gift.   But I remember the movie “The Blind Side.”  Until I saw that movie, I didn’t know homeless children ...

What's Hot and What's Not

Summer is a great time to take a step back, sip a cool beverage, and take a look at what’s going on in the world of college admissions.  Departments use the summer to evaluate how their year went and plan on any changes they want to make for the fall.  Did they over-enroll? Under-enroll?  What application materials were useful to them?  Which were redundant or time ...
