UNION, NJ - New Providence's Joe Delia was runner up in the 152 lb weight class in the highly competitive Union County Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Union High School losing to Nick Zuena of Union in an 8-6 decision.
Chris Reynolds (160 lb) defeated Union's Joram Morinvil in a 5-3 decision and Doug Chacon (182 lb) pinned Brearley's Tyler Stoeckle in 3:29 to grab third place finishes. Andrew Joachim (195 lb) lost to Cranford's Dylan Budnik for a fourth place finish.
Cranford, who crowned five individual champions, took home the team championship title with 248 points; Roselle Park placed second with a distant 182 points, Westfield third and Rahway placed fourth.
Participating schools in the tournament were: A.L. Johnson (Clark), Cranford, David Brearley (Kenilworth), Dayton, Elizabeth, Gov. Livingston, New Providence, Linden, Plainfield, Rahway, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Union, and Westfield.
