It’s times like these that finding the right words to express the gratitude we feel for all of our supporters, volunteers and voters, is difficult. This was an important election on many levels and we feel honored that you took the time out of your day to go to the polls and vote for us. We truly appreciate that you took part in this great democratic process and exercised your right to vote and be heard.
Behind any good candidate is a great team. This victory was a team effort. To the residents that held meet-and-greets for us, we say, "Thank you.” To the residents that made calls and wrote letters for us, we say, “Thank you.” To our inner campaign circle, who gave so much of their time and effort to get us elected, we say, “Thank you.” To our spouses and our family, that saw scant little of us during the campaign, we say, “Thank you.” We truly appreciate all that you have done.
We’d like to thank our opponent, John Keane. A good opponent makes you fight hard for a victory. John Keane was that good opponent that challenged us and made us work hard for every vote. We recognize that John received over 1,100 votes. Our job for the next three years is to convince those 1,100 voters that we represent them just as equally, fairly and vigorously as we represent those that voted for us. After all, we all want what is best for New Providence. We are all in this together.
This win is validation that you agree with us and our message. New Providence is a great place to live and raise a family and we need to keep it that way! Our pledge to you is that we will do what is best for ALL of the residents of New Providence. We will continue our strategy of fiscal responsibility. We will continue working to keep New Providence as one of the safest communities in the state. We will work hard to keep taxes low and to minimize the impacts of affordable housing mandates. It’s not by accident that you chose to live in New Providence. Our job will be to make sure that you remain happy with your decision.
