AddamsFest: Westfield Celebrates Charles Addams

UPDATE: The opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m., the Addams Family Fun Zone from 11 a.m. to  2 p.m., Chill on Quimby from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Charlie’s Ale Garden (now also known as Charlie’s Ale Hall) from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. will all be held at the Westfield Armory at 500 Rahway Avenue. The Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest at 3 p.m. has been moved to Woofgang Bakery and Grooming at 218 East Broad St. downtown.

Born in Westfield, NJ in 1912, Charles Addams was one of America’s greatest cartoonists. His most well-known creation, The Addams Family, grew from an assortment of cartoons into a celebrated televisions series, a movie franchise, a Broadway musical, and, coming in 2019, a highly anticipated animated motion picture. Westfield’s AddamsFest celebrates this prolific talent and the hometown that inspired those creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky (and all together ooky) characters.

Easy comparisons, as prices collapsed last year during the height of the pandemic, continue to exaggerate the yearly increases.
