American Legion Post 433 to Host Flag Retirement Ceremony on Oct. 29

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Following the Flag Retirement Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, American Legion Post 433 has been inundated with American flags eligible for retirement. As a result of the influx of these flags, a second Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the New Providence American Legion Post 433, at 357 Elkwood Ave., next to the Veterans Memorial Library. The public is invited.  

Anyone who wants to retire an unserviceable flag in this ceremony is asked to place it in the flag receptacle in front of the Legion Hall or drop it off at the American Legion Post by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. The public is invited to attend.
