Plays By People

New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents The Arts Access Program at Matheny & Premiere Stages at Kean University’s staged readings on Saturday March 28th at 4PM. This event is part of the Alliance’s Stages Festival, the state’s largest annual theatre festival that provides free and discounted theatre events for all ages throughout the month of March. This event is free.

This annual event will feature a staged reading of several plays written by Arts Access playwrights and performed by professional actors from Premiere Stages at Kean University. The playwrights will be an integral part of the staging process, offering direct feedback to the actors on how to best present their written work, work with the director to create sound cues and staging and will gain important critique and experience as a performer in the main role.

“The Alliance is grateful that The Arts Access Program at Matheny is participating in the 2020 Stages Festival,” said John McEwen, Executive Director of the Alliance. “For 23 years, Stages has provided theatrical experiences for thousands of residents across New Jersey. These efforts would not be made possible without the wonderful help of our partners such as Premiere Stages at Kean University.”
