Joseph was born on August 29, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of Victoria Romano and Vincent Gabriele. Joseph grew up in the Ridgewood section of Queens and lived in New York City prior to moving to New Providence, N.J. 46 years ago. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War with the 1st Cavalry Division. Joseph had a distinguished career in the finance industry as a founding partner of Gabriele, Hueglin & Cashman Inc., a Wall Street Brokerage Firm and later as a Managing Director and Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch. An avid baseball fan, Joseph enjoyed cheering on his favorite team the New York Mets. He was known for his generosity and was loved by all that knew him. Above all Joseph was devoted to his loving family.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marlene (nee Pappachristus) Gabriele, their loving children, Andrea (Paul) Vasady-Kovacs, Vincent (Vanessa) Gabriele, Jessica (Harris) Frommer and Ashley Gabriele. His siblings, Elisa Hutter and Frank Gabriele and cherished grandchildren: Max, Remi, Isabella, Liv, Victoria, Joseph, Tommy and Stella. Joseph was predeceased by his parents and his brother Vincent Gabriele.
