NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The New Providence Historical Society invites the public to attend their annual Dinner on April 25, 2019. Hoes d’oeuvre at 6PM, Dinner at 7 p.m., Cash Bar

Mr. Rick Giffken will speak on the “Lost Amusement Parks of the North Jersey Shore’ with rarely seen images to document how the Jersey Shore became the most famous vacation and recreational destination in the coastal United States. Mr. Geffken captures a simpler way of life in our country when families took l their children to boardwalks to enjoy saltwater taffy, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and a variety of rides and games.

The New Providence Historical Society was established in 1960. Our Salt Box Museum is located 1350 Springfield Avenue. Open House is the first Sunday of every Month, 1pm to 3pm.  The Mason Room (Archive/research ) is located in the New Providence Memorial Library. Open on Tuesday mornings.
