NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - "We were so pleasantly surprised that so many came out in the winter storm [on Sunday] to participate in the Gingerbread Decorating Contest," said Stacey Maisch, PR Associate at New Providence Memorial Library.

This is the first year the Library hosted the Gingerbread Decorating event that invited families, individuals, or groups of friends to participate. Each group received a gingerbread house kit and decorated it at the library during the event.

There are 23 houses on display in the library until December 6th. The public can vote on their favorite gingerbread house entry, and the top three entries will win a free bag of books from the AfterWords Bookstore in the basement of the library. Tickets to vote are available at the front circulation desk. (One ticket per person.)

"The Gingerbread houses have spruced up the library and are serving as great festive decorations, as well as a fun contest," said Maisch.
