NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The first “annual” New Providence Lions Corn Hole contest, held at the William Paca Club, was a rousing success by all accounts.  The event had 80 contestants testing their bean bag skills, while dozens dined and watched the event.  The Lions raised over $4,800, 100% of which goes back into the Lions efforts to help others and make New Providence an even better town to live in and raise a family.

Ed Morgan, President of the New Providence Lions Club gave a special thanks to “those local business that supported the Lions and continue to support our town”.  Heading the list of food contributors was the Prestige Diner donating incredible trays of edibles, Great pizza from our friends at Coppola and Bellariva, amazing Empanadas from Beyond Delicious, Barth’s Chicken Fingers, Paolo’s Meatballs, and ACME coming in big with assorted desserts!

The winning team and runners-up were awarded gift certificates to New Providence newest addition to dining excellence, Harlee’s Tap & Grille.  Gift certificates were also generously contributed by Moe’s Bistro & Piano Bar, Jose’s Mexican Cantina, Jersey Mike’s, Bellariva, Bacci’s NP Brick Oven & Italian Grill, Chopt Creative Salads, Coppola’s, Marcy’s Kitchen, Starbucks, Luminous and Skin Deep

Plans are already being drawn for the 2020 “annual” Corn Hole competition.  With the limited indoor space, suggestions were made to turn this into a warmer weather event to accommodate the growing competition.  Regardless of where or when it will be held, we’re sure the competition will be a lot of fun for all.

The New Providence Lions Club gives back to the community every dollar it raises.

Being a Lion empowers you to help others in a way that no one person could alone.
