NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Playing sports is rewarding to athletes in and of itself, but Thursday night, May 30th at the 2019 NPHS Senior Night, New Providence PAL awarded 4 scholarships to those athletes who not only contributed on their respective PAL teams over the years, but who also impactfully contributed to the New Providence community.
The PAL Scholarship Awards are annually granted to applicants based on PAL's key criteria: PAL participation, PAL volunteerism and community service. This year’s scholarship winners are:

- Brian Smith
Formed in 1949 and celebrating their 70th-year anniversary, the New Providence Police Athletic League is a nationally affiliated non-profit organization that offers the area's youth the opportunity to participate in sports while developing lasting relationships with many of the volunteer members of our community. NP PAL provides competitive athletic programs for kids aged 5 through 18 including Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Football, Softball, and Wrestling, all of which help promote self-confidence and a competitive spirit, and enable kids to learn responsibility.
