Dear Editor:

I want to personally thank the more than 400 walkers who participated in the 4th Annual Chatham Township Out of the Darkness Walk at Cougar Field. Under blue skies and a sunny day, they helped shine a bright light on suicide prevention and raised more than $90,000 (to date) for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This brings our four-year Walk fundraising total to more than $300,000! There is still time to donate to this important cause, which can be done at www.afsp.org/chathamtwp

We could not have been as successful if it were not for the tireless efforts of our Walk Committee. I particularly want to thank Walk Co-Chair Chatham Township Sargent Anthony Loporto, Val and Bob Olpp, Sydney Gotsch, Thad Kobylarz, Kelly Loofbourrow, Gabrielle Crowley, Susan and Dan Kovac, Adam and Monica Giaquinto, Officer Brian Colatrella, and the many volunteers who offered their time at the Walk. Special thanks also goes to Elizabeth Roithmayr-Clemens, New Jersey Area Director for the AFSP, for her support.
