NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The glitz! The glamour! The red carpet! The town was abuzz with excitement of the Hollywood inspired grand opening celebration of Luminous Medspa and Salon Sunday night.
"I am so happy to be here to luminize the entire town. Thank you for everybody who came," said spa owner Heather Hoffman to the large crowd before cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
Luminous Medspa and Salon is New Jersey's first of its kind medspa. "We are honored to have the distinction of being number one," said Mayor Al Morgan, who donned a tux and top hat for the occasion.
Other dignitaries that came out for the grand opening were Congressman Leonard Lance, Assemblyman Jon Bramnick, Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, Councilmen Armond Galluccio and Dr. Bob Robinson and his running mate, candidate Nadine Geoffroy.
The steady line of arriving guests of nearly 500 family, friends, clients, local business owners and community members were greeted on the red carpet with a glass of champagne or bellini served by white gloved waiters. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts were served from local eateries.
The guests were encouraged to take a tour of the spa to meet the Luminous staff and view the elegant decor of the spa. Each guest received tickets for a chance to win raffles and took home a glam swag bag.
Hoffman, who has over 25 years experience in the spa business, saw a need to open a medspa to give her customers what they want -- making women feel and look their best. Treatments include CoolSculpting, Laser Treatments, Fire & Ice Facials, Peels, Injectables, Microdermabrasion and more.
"[This is] the way the time is," Hoffman told TAPinto. "I have been in the business for 25 years doing facials. -- This is what people want -- they want major results." People follow the stars and Hollywood and now those treatments are being offered at Luminous Medspa and Salon in New Providence.
Hoffman first saw CoolSculpting on "Keeping up with the Kardashians." I did research and had to try the treatment, said Hoffman. "It works." CoolSculpting is an innovative, noninvasive way to contour your body by freezing unwanted fat away. The procedure is non-surgical, safe, effective and best of all, the results are long –term.
Due to a back injury, Hoffman has physical restrictions and needed to find an alternative solution to exercise. "I needed to do something that would help me," she said. "CoolSculpting is why I got into the medical spa business. These are treatments that are noninvasive - safe -- why would I not do it."
The medical spa opened a whole new world for Hoffman, who is living her dream.
Luminous has a doctor and nurse on staff and all clients first come in for a consultation. "Not everyone is a candidate for CoolSculpting. We tell them honestly," said Hoffman. "We have options -- we need to come up with an alternative through nutrition and wellness."
"I want to be that place -- when you don't feel good -- I want to be that person to fix whatever the problem is," she said. "I know how this place has made me feel."
The bottom line, Hoffman wants to see positive change through the services offered at Luminous . -- "You will see change, that's why I have been successful -- I want to make sure you have results."
In addition to the medspa treatments, Luminous is a full service salon offering hair, facials, waxing, makeup and the Aroma Oxy Bar. Visit their website to learn more about their menu of services and treatments.
