BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The BHPD issued the following reminder to residents after multiple auto thefts reported in the township and the number of thefts occurring in jurisdictions in this area and throughout the state:

"We would like to remind all residents to lock their vehicles and homes at night, remove any valuables from within vehicle and most importantly remember to take the key fob or key out of the vehicle." 

On July 27, BHPD was dispatched to two separate residences on Lenape Lane. The first residence reported that their 2017 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from their driveway at approximately 3:30 a.m. by two unidentified suspects.

The second residence on Lenape Lane reported two bicycles were stolen from within their garage and their vehicles were entered. The garage remote was stolen from within one of the vehicles.

These thefts are currently being investigated and anyone with additional information or surveillance video are asked to contact the Investigations Division at 908-464-1111.
