BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - 100 Blessing Bags were packed and delivered to senior citizens in Plainfield by volunteers from the Asian Indian Christian Church, located at 172 Springfield Avenue Berkeley Heights.  The Church and its parishioners pride themselves on service.

On March 26th a request went out to the church community for sponsors and volunteers to help senior citizens in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  “Have a heart, lend a hand and make a difference,” was the tagline for this initiative.  Parishioners were asked to sponsor a Blessing Bags for $50 each.  Donations for this effort equaled an estimated $2,500. Donations in the form of goods were also accepted and included items such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, canned food, rice, pasta, protein bars, dry beans, peanut butter, jelly, shelf stable meals and cereal.
