BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The New Providence 8th grade PAL football team defeated Berkeley Heights, 28-14, last weekend to secure the No. 1 seed going into the playoffs. Both teams entered the game undefeated. The D level team (grades 4/5) also won last Sunday, defeating Springfield, 13-7, to secure the No. 1 seed.

"We are incredibly proud of all four of our teams on their combined 21-10-1 regular season record," said New Providence PAL commissioner Brian Woodby. "Both our D level (4th/5th grade) and A level (8th grade) teams qualified for playoffs in first place."

"The players and coaches put in a lot of hard work this year and it shows on the field," said Woodby.  "We are very excited to see so much playoff football in New Providence with two PAL teams and the high school all participating in the first round of playoffs this weekend."
