NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Joe D'Anna was selected to the 2018 NJFCA Super 100 Team. This year's banquet was held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.
The "Super 100 Team" recognizes the top senior class football players and head coaches in the state. The NJFCA was established in 1984 with a purpose to maintain the highest possible standards in football and in the profession of coaching football; to promote the highest level of interscholastic competition and to honor the young men who play this great game.
Also, D'Anna will be joined by three other Pioneer football players in this year's Autoland Classic football game this July (formerly the Snapple Bowl): Anthony Sidoli, Mario Fuentes, Joe D'Anna, and Dan LaMotta.
The Snapple Bowl has been officially renamed to the MyCentralJersey.com Autoland Classic after the game’s new title sponsor. Roster spots will be filled for every Greater Middlesex Conference and Mid-State Conference team. To accommodate this change, the total roster size was increased from 90 to 100 participants.
"The game, which previously pitted recently graduated seniors from Middlesex County against counterparts from Union County, will now have players from those two counties join forces to face an opponent comprised of gridiron stars from Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren counties," MyCentralJersey reported.
The game will continue to make a difference by raising money for Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside and the Edison-based Lakeview School [a program of the New Jersey Institue for Disabilities]. The Middlesex and Union squad will be called the East. The Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren squad will be called the West.
The Autoland Classic will be played on July 18 at Kean University’s Alumni Stadium at 7 p.m.
