BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Two  New Providence PAL Football teams reached the Super Bowl games at Foley Field in Bloomfield on Saturday November 16th.

The 8th grade PAL team (A level) shut-out (31-0) Berkeley Heights to win the NJSFYL Super Bowl, the first Super Bowl win for New Providence while competing in the NJSYFL league. This victory brought the 8th graders to a record of 10-0, including 5 shutout wins. 

NP PAL 8th grade Head Coach Vinny Carangelo said, “This group is truly special. They are not only incredibly talented, but more importantly they are driven, motivated, kind, caring, coachable, and just love playing together. This group is so incredibly motivated to continually improve and excel. They are mature beyond their years in their ability to focus on football and the game and look to not only excel as individuals, but even more so as a team.”

The 5th grade level (D-level) also earned a spot in the Super Bowl. The team lost a hard fought game 7-0 against the Scotch Plains-Fanwood. The D-Level team finished the season at 8-2 including a regular season title.
