NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ -- Senior pitcher Danny Farley got robbed of his final season where he would have made his varsity debut this year. "Danny would have been a strong contributor on the mound," said New Providence head baseball coach Chris Brodeur.

Farley's favorite high school highlight was in the first round of the JV Union County tournament against Union. "I pitched the whole game. We were down 1-0 going into the bottom of the 7th and we rallied back to win the game and move on in the tournament," said Farley.

"Wearing the NP uniform means a lot to me as it represents the highest level of baseball in town," he said. "When I was younger, I would always look up to the high school players and couldn't wait to play at their level."

While very disappointed in missing his final high school season, Farley said, "[I] understand that it's necessary for everyone's safety."

"Danny’s quiet demeanor hid his love of the game and his desire to be a great teammate. Danny stands out as a player who has a great attitude around the field. He is a true workingman’s hero," said Brodeur.

TAPinto: What is your favorite youth highlight in the sport?

Danny: My favorite baseball highlight was going to Cooperstown Dreams Park when I was twelve competing against teams all around the country. It was a great experience meeting other players and a lot of fun.

TAPinto: What will the first thing you do once restrictions are lifted?

Danny: Once restrictions are lifted, I will go to the field with my friends and afterward go to Wendy's or Popeyes.
