In response to the conditions created by the pandemic, The Center for Great Expectations is hosting a Virtual Annual Gala to raise critical funds for the transformational mental health and substance use disorder treatment it provides to women, children, men and families impacted by trauma, abuse and neglect. CGE is a national leader in delivering trauma-attuned care and has trained in its client-centered Trauma C.A.R.E.© model across the country.

This year’s fundraising and awareness efforts will be highlighted by celebrity guest and event host Scott Clark, the Emmy Award-winning former ABC Sports Anchor, and feature a very special in-depth interview—around her own recovery journey—with Elizabeth Vargas, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist, lead investigative reporter for A+E Networks and author of Between Breaths: A Memoir of Panic and Addiction. The event is free and will take place virtually online and simultaneously streamed on Facebook LIVE, October 29th, 2020 at 7 PM. Adding to the excitement are musical guests AJ Smith, Whitney McClain and The Platinum Band, a LIVE online auction, and a Networking “Afterparty” hosted by Scott Clark and Elizabeth Vargas.

“Substance use in the U.S. has risen significantly since the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic, as our neighbors, friends, and co-workers struggle with life’s many stressors and daily challenges to our mental and physical well-being.”  - Peg Wright, CEO & Founder of The Center for Great Expectations

About CGE: The Center for Great Expectations provides an uncompromised continuum of care across prevention and treatment of substance use and mental health disorders, for individuals who have experienced trauma. Our relationally-based programs include the prevention methodology of The CTARI Institute™; Residential Treatment Centers for women and adolescents; Katy’s Place on-site child development center; the Roots to Recovery outpatient center; 28 units of Permanent Supportive Housing for families; and START, a one- of-a-kind in-home program for pregnant or parenting clients and their infants. Informed by CGE’s foundational Trauma C.A.R.E.© model and evidence-based approaches, we provide client-centered treatment for the best possible outcomes for both parent and child, including early relational health, to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, substance use and homelessness.
