Newark, NJ--An Essex County College student was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly made threatening comments directed towards a faculty member at the school’s Newark campus, authorities said.

Jacques Cesaire, 41, of Newark, was arrested and charged with one count of Terroristic Threats after an investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Prosecutions Unit and the Essex County College Police Department.

Cesaire was taken into custody without incident by detectives Wednesday afternoon and is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in the Essex County Central Judicial Processing Court.
