NEWARK, NJ - The Community FoodBank of New Jersey will distribute food tomorrow to help federal employees at Newark Liberty International Airport amid the government the shutdown.

The organization will be at the airport tomorrow to give TSA, FAA, and Customs & Border Protection employees free fresh produce and boxes of nutritious, nonperishable food. A SNAP outreach coordinator will also be on hand. 

The government shutdown began Dec. 22. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees have been furloughed as the shutdown -- the longest in United States history -- continues.

The Community FoodBank, the state's largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, expects to help about 500 federal employees at the airport tomorrow. Food will be distributed at Terminal C on level 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
