NEWARK, NJ - The gym at Newark’s First Avenue School won’t fill with the sounds of dribbling basketballs for March Madness this Saturday.

Instead, it will most likely be filled with bleeps and bloops as nearly 200 students fill the gymnasium to display their robots for the district’s March Robotics Madness event. Students from 20 schools will demonstrate their inventions and be judged in the Newark Public Schools’ annual robot competition.

The event is sponsored by Panasonic and Overdeck Family Foundation and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
