Calling all writers and aspiring writers!
If you ever wanted to learn more about travel writing (yes, even in a pandemic), self-publishing, sex and the memoir, and finding the right agent, Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival will be offering online writing workshops on these topics and more this month.
The first one-hour workshop will be held at 2pm on Sunday, September 13, with six more workshops scheduled over the next three evenings. All workshops will be held via Zoom and cost $30 each. Proceeds from the workshops will benefit Montclair-based non-profit Succeed2gether.
NJ author Eva Natiello’s Ultimate Book Marketing Workshop will impart actionable marketing strategies for authors to get their books noticed and increase sales; William Paterson University Professor of English, novelist and screenwriter Philip Cioffari will detail how to outline and structure a novel; while The Writers Circle founder and novelist Judith Lindbergh will explore how to apply the five senses to your writing, adding texture, color, vibrance, and dimension—to describe just a few of the workshops.
All details and booking information can be found on the festival website: succeed2gether.org/mlf-writing-workshops/.
The writing workshops were originally planned as part of the March festival. After the postponement of the festival in mid-March due to COVID-19, the festival team rescheduled the festival for September 12 and 13. All festival talks and panels are free. More details here succeed2gether.org/mlf-festival-september/.
The festival is a fundraiser for Succeed2gether, which runs free one-on-one tutoring and enrichment classes for low-income families in Essex County. Any donations received during the festival will fund the online tutoring and classes planned for Fall.
