NEWARK, NJ — A new apartment building will soon be developed in the Ironbound neighborhood in Newark's East Ward.
The City Council on Monday authorized a resolution to combine property at 22, 24 and 26 Cortland Street to develop a three-story, ten-unit apartment building.
The private sale occurred between the city and Newark-based Omega Living, LLC., which is owned by Jose Luis Martinez at 88 St. Francis St in Newark. The property will cost $12-per-square-foot.
The redevelopment project will begin within three months and must be completed within two years from the transfer of ownership by the city.
