GROOVE IN THE GROVE Indie Music Festival Returns for 8th Year to Vasa Park

MT. OLIVE, NJ, May 10, 2018 – Kicking back on the grounds of a beautiful park listening to great music, drinking a cold one and hanging out with friends – sounds like the perfect Saturday! Music lovers, songwriters, musicians and anyone who enjoys spending a relaxing afternoon outdoors will enjoy this family-friendly event! Concert goers can bask in the sun or cool down in the shade while grooving to some awesome tunes! Always great music, food and FUN!

The 8th annual Groove In The Grove Indie Music Festival (Groove) returns to Vasa Park, 1 Vasa Drive, Hackettstown, NJ (Mt. Olive Twp. - Budd Lake), Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 1:00-9:00 PM. Groove brings some of the area’s best singer-songwriters to Northwest New Jersey! Rain or Shine - in case of inclement weather, event held under huge pavilion and/or Cultural Center. Tickets may be purchased with cash at the gate on the day of Groove. Admission just $15/Adult, $10/Student, children 12 and under FREE. Groove boasts two outdoor performance stages providing continuous musical entertainment, offering an afternoon full of original music in a shaded, park-like setting with on-site playground, plenty of free parking and craft/service vendors situated near the performance area. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and your appetite. Festival food & outdoor cash bar available. No coolers or pets, please. Although we love animals, please leave the pups at home as park regulations do not allow dogs on-site. Professional sound and stage management services provided by Mountain Ledge Music. Groove is an XPN Welcomes event.

The two Groove Open Mic Challenge winners, who will be selected on Thursday, June 7th at Enzo’s Pizzeria in Budd Lake, NJ, will open Groove. Seasoned singer-songwriters in the line-up include Danielle Miraglia, Geoff Doubleday, WinterLong, Katherine Rondeau, Cassidy Rain of the Outcrops, Carla Ulbrich, Bernie Drury, MariByrd, Don Kinkaid and more! Back by popular demand, local legend Patrick Fitzsimmons will be the evening feature performer, playing a full of his own songs starting at 7:15 PM.

Sponsorship opportunities available as we are looking for organizations to partner with that wish to promote the arts in our communities. Local hand-craft vendors encouraged to operate a booth at this artisan friendly event. Groove provides ample exposure through many avenues of marketing and publicity including Press Releases, Flyers, Social Media outlets and day of event presence. Proceeds go towards enriching the local music scene, helping defray costs of and grow the festival, and songwriter related programs and initiatives throughout the year. SPARTA, NJ – A Byram woman is facing drug charges having been stopped for a broken headlight on White Lake Road.  On June 15 Abigail Carkhuff, 22, was pulled over by Police Officer Brian Porter around 10:40 p.m. police report.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — No injuries have been reported in an incident that shut down Bridgewater Commons Mall Thursday evening after a fight involving a crowd of 40-50 people.
