FRANKLIN, NJ – Franklin Borough residents was arrested on drug charges as well as child neglect charges following complaints by neighbors. Residents around Main Street and Rutherford Avenue voiced their concern about drug activity in their neighborhood, according to police.
Franklin Detectives investigated the complaints and found Anthony John Robert Cabral was selling heroin in the area. The 24 year-old Franklin resident was also alleged to have “neglected a child” while selling drugs, report police.
On April 4 around 7:30 p.m. Cabral was placed under arrest for distribution of narcotics. Cabral had heroin on him when he was arrested.
Charged with distribution of heroin and cruelty and neglect of children, Cabral was brought to the Sussex County Jail. His bail was set at $32,500 with no 10 percent option.
Franklin Borough Police report the investigation is ongoing.
