NEWTON, NJ—Kayleigh Furth dominated the field on Wednesday, when Newton girls soccer took on North Warren away and won 7-1.
Furth contributed three of the seven goals for the Braves, she was joined by Brianna Giordano who contributed two and Blaise Vallorosi and Kass Wojcik who each had one goal.
Regan Thiel has three assists.Furth, Wojcik, Kacie May and Olivia Buckley each had one assist.
“The girls played well and were moving the ball around well creating many opportunities to score,” said Head Coach Jake Mull. “We took advantage of those opportunities.”
Newton out shot North Warren 21-14 shots. Karis Steele, goalkeeper for the Braves had two saves versus North Warren’s goalie Erika Plut who had 14.
The Newton High School girls are now 9-4 overall and 3-1 in their conference division as they move ahead to take on Belvidere in the second round of the H/W/S tournament on Saturday, away, beginning at 4 p.m.
