NEWTON, NJ—Newton High School Girls Basketball Team’s Head Coach, Whitney Dugan, will be hosting the first annual Lady Braves Basketball Camp this summer.

The camp will run from Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28 and will be held at Newton High School.

“The camp will offer an environment to learn the vital fundamentals for the game of basketball, while creating an enthusiasm for the sport. Campers will gain knowledge not only from the Lady Braves coaching staff, but from the players of the current Lady Braves High School team as well”, according to the application.

The camp will have two sessions; third through fifth graders will have a session from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., while the sixth through eighth graders’ session will be from 11:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.

“Campers will work on their individual skills; defense, passing, dribbling, moving without the ball, decision making skills, game like scenarios, team work and fun, as well as learn how to be a good member of a team. This camp is offering the taste of what a high school practice will be like at a winning program,’ stated the application.
