SPARTA, NJ – A Lafayette man was arrested after fighting with a Sparta man and then urinating on his lawn.

Sparta police were called to Houses Corner Road, responding to a report of a dispute on June 12 at 10:40 a.m.  When Police Officer Dan Elig and Cpl Frank Schomp arrived they found the homeowner had had a “dispute” with Sean O’Hara after he stopped in front of the home and urinated on the front lawn.

The 30 year-old was questioned by the officers.  They suspected O’Hara had been driving his 2002 Honda under the influence of alcohol and had him do a series of field sobriety tests.

They also searched him and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his pockets. 

O’Hara was taken into custody and brought to the Sparta Police Department headquarters for breath testing and processing.

O’Hara was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, careless driving, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.   He was also charged criminally with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released several hours later pending a court date.
