NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Braves Baseball team hosted High Point last week, on Monday, May 16 and lost 8-1.

Cole Van Luvender started on the mound for the Braves. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings, getting one strike out, one walk and allowing 10 hits.

Jake Tarabokija took over in the last inning for Van Luvender. He got one strike out and allowed three hits on one error.

Billy Carson was the only Brave to score. He went 1-for-3 during his. Chase Cramer went 2-for-3, stealing a base for Newton.

Luke Young, Bobby Fehr, and Aldo Vallorosi each went 0-for-3 for the Braves and Michael Luzzi, Van Luvender, and Alex Blanar each went 0-for-2.

Tarabokija went 1-for-1 at bat, while Scott Price went 1-for-2 while at bat. The Braves had a tough time getting hits against High Point.

Newton is 14-8 overall, but 7-1 in the league to lead the division. The Braves hosted Sparta on Wednesday, May 18.
