NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys baseball team mercy-ruled Hopatcong 12-2, when they played them home at Memory Park on Wednesday.

Leading the Braves in their victory was Scott Price who went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in four runs, while scoring one himself.

Aldo Vallorosi went 1-for-3, scoring three runs himself and driving in two runs. Jake Tarabokija went 1-for-2, grabbing a double and a stolen base, he scored three of Newton’s runs.

Michael Luzzi, who had one RBI, went 2-for-2 with one walk, while Alex Blanar went 1-for-2 with a double.

Pitching the entire five inning game for Newton was Billy Carson. Carson threw 65 pitches total, striking out four and walking two. He allowed two runs on six hits with two errors to take the win.

The Newton High School Boys Baseball team, which is 12-2 overall will take on Vernon, away on Tuesday, May 16, beginning at 4 p.m.
