NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School baseball team swept past High Point on Wednesday, when they played them home, winning 9-2.

Leading the Braves in their victory over High Point were Scott Price, Michael Luzzi, Chase Cramer, and Billy Carson.

Price, went 2-for-4, driving in two runs for Newton, while Luzzi went 1-for-3, driving in one run and crossing the plate himself.

Cramer and Carson both went 2-for-3, driving in one run apiece. Cramer got a double and both scored one run apiece.

Alex Blanar pitched the full game of seven innings for the Braves.  He threw 113 pitches, striking out seven and walking four.

He allowed two runs on three hits and had an errorless game.

The Newton High School baseball team will take on Vernon for the second time this season, away on Friday, beginning at 4 p.m.
