NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School baseball team lost to Sparta by one with a score of 4-3 on Saturday, when they played them on Sparta’s field.

Scott Price led the Braves, driving in one RBI. Price went 1-for-4 at bat. Luke Young went 1-for-2 and walked twice.

Chase Cramer, who also went 1-for-4 at bat, grabbed a double. Michael Luzzi, went 2-for-4, scoring two runs for Newton.

On the mound for Newton were Dylan Testa and Gianni Pereira. Testa pitched five innings, throwing 80 pitches.

Testa struck out three, walked one, and allowed four runs on seven hits, with four errors. Pereira pitched one inning and threw 15 pitches. He walked one and struck out none, but allowed no hits by Sparta.
