NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School baseball team beat High Point on Tuesday, 4-3, when they played them away.

Billy Carson led the Braves in their victory over High Point, going 2-for-3 at bat and driving in two runs.

Alex Blanar went 1-for-2, grabbing a double on his only hit and scoring a run for Newton.  Scott  Price went 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored.

Blanar started on the mound for Newton, throwing 102 pitches in six innings. He struck out four, walked three, and allowed three runs on three hits, with three errors.

Closing for the Braves was Jake Tarabokija, who pitched the seventh and final inning against High Point, striking out one batter and throwing 10 pitches.

The Braves are now 14-2 overall and 4-0, leading their league overall. They will take on Vernon, away on Tuesday, May 16, beginning at 4 p.m.
