NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys basketball team ran over North Warren 71-32 on Friday on the road, after a 52-37 loss to Jefferson at home.

Taking the lead for the Braves was Aaron Fantasia put up 32 points against North Warren. He made 10 2-pointers, three 3-pointers and three foul shots throughout the game.

Dylan Bailey and Brian McKeown each contributed 10 points apiece to the score, JD Heller added another nine points, Jack Young put up six points and Kellen Miller and Sebastian Deleon each contributed two points apiece.

Newton hosted Jefferson on Wednesday, going into halftime they were down by two points, 23-21, but Jefferson came back in the second half to score another 29 points to Newton’s 16.

Fantasia was the lead scorer with 11 points, Heller and Bailey contributed nine points apiece, and McKeown scored three points.

The Newton High School boys basketball team will begin the 2020 NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 tournament as the seven-seeded team. They will host 10-seeded Morris Tech on Tuesday, March 3 beginning at 7 p.m.
