NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Boys Basketball team lost 43-39 on their home court when they played Sparta on Monday at 7 p.m.

Leading the Braves in points for the game against Sparta was Jake Tarabokija, contributing 11 points with one 2-pointer, two 3-pointers, and three foul shots.

Jason Heter also scored for the Braves, contributing nine points, along with Collin Kelly who had seven, Luke Young with six, Luismy Arias with three, Thomas Salomon with two and Jaiden Elliot with one.

Defensively, the Braves had 19 rebounds, two assists, five steals, and three blocks. Offensively, they made nine 2-pointers, three 3-pointers, and 12 foul shots.

The Braves move their record to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference division as they take on Lenape Valley and Morris Knolls this week.
