NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Boys Basketball team got another win under their belts as they beat Montville, 56-41, when they played them away on Thursday, Feb. 25.

The four high-scorers for the Braves were Samir Wheeler, Charlie Maker, Patrick O’Doherty, and Andrew Cooney.

Wheeler scored 16 points, Maker had 14 points, O’Doherty made 11 points, and Cooney had 10 points for the Braves.

Jason Heter had three points and Chase Cramer added two points to the Braves’ score against Montville.

Overall, the Braves scored 20 2-pointers, five 3-pointers, and one foul shot. The boys also had 19 rebounds, 14 assists, and seven blocks.

Their record overall is 19-4 and their conference-division record is 8-0. The boys will host Lakeland to begin the state tournament on Tuesday, March 1.
