NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Boys Basketball team crushed Wallkill Valley when they played them away on Thursday, and won 70-43.

Once again this season, Jason Heter is the lead scorer for the Braves in the game against Wallkill Valley. Heter contributed 15 points, scoring six 2-pointers and three foul shots.

Jaiden Elliot and Jake Tarabokija each contributed nine points for the Braves. Elliot with three 2-pointers and one 3-pointer, while Tarabokija made two 2-pointers, one 3-pointer and two foul shots. Luismy Arias contributed eight points with four 2-pointers.

Overall, offensively, the Braves made 25 2 pointers, four 3-pointers, and eight foul shots. They were also able to get 16 assists.

Defensively, the Braves got 20 rebounds, six steals and one block against Wallkill in Thursday night’s game.

The Newton High School Boys Basketball team will host Sparta on Monday, January 9 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Newton High School gym.
